What We Do
The Coromandel Trails Collective (CTC) exists to:
Support trail groups with planning, compliance and funding tools by providing a centralised space for resource sharing and coordination.
Advocate for access, maintenance and conservation across our trail networks
Collaborate with mana whenua and local landowners providing resources to support appropriate engagement.
Enable more groups - walking, trail running, horse-riding and others to join a district-wide support network and trail eco-system. -
Who We Are
We are mountain biking clubs from across the Coromandel who recognised the need for coordination and shared leadership to create a coordinated & strategic approach to track and trail development within The Coromandel.
We welcome new groups to join the Collective - whether you’re a community walking club, land manager or trail advocate. -
Our Outcomes
To develop opportunities for shared services, knowledge and resources amongst the collective group members.
Enable regular dialogue, communications and early engagement with key external agencies, stakeholders & land owners.
Improve Social Cohesion.
We encourage social benefits as a result of local community use, improved well being, employment opportunities and connection with the outdoor environment are enjoyed by communities as a result of trail creation and improved local accessibility to recreational assets.
Extend and connect existing trails.
Our aim is towns, communities and tourism destinations are linked. Creating a network of trails that enabling users to spend longer on trails, giving greater flexibility to stay longer and experience our epic destinations.Enhance the trail user experience.
Cultural and historic value is added to the trail experiences.
The natural environment is restored and enhanced whilst ensuring uniquely Coromandel trail experiences.
